Description
Chimpanzee head made of clay as igloo cave – an extraordinary hiding place
Breeding and hiding cave suitable for most Apistogramma species and other small cichlids
Here I had a little clown for breakfast and out came this admittedly “weird” hiding place 😅.
This cave in the shape of a monkey head has a usable interior of about 7 cm Ø.
This cave is suitable as a hiding place or spawning cave for e.g. small perches such as Apistogramma or as a hiding place for small catfish. In terms of shape, it can be used in the same way as similarly sized igloos, but it is certainly a real eye-catcher 😉
Making this kind of igloo is quite elaborate. It is not cast, but made by hand from stoneware clay. Stoneware clay is heavier and cannot be compared to cast clay in terms of strength and durability.
All pieces are air-dried and then polished and sanded to remove any corners or edges.
As all igloos are made by hand, variations in colouring and dimensions may occur as each is a unique and incomparable piece.
Dimensions: width approx. 10 cm, depth total 11 cm, height approx. 8 cm
usable interior approx. 7 cm Ø
entrance opening approx. 2×4 cm
