Sturisomatichthys aureus

I have had this Sturisoma in my stock since 01.12.2018. It was sold to us as S. barbatum, but is more likely to be Sturisomatichthys aureus.

As early as 28 December 2018, I was able to discover a few eggs in the tank and put them in the Fry Factory – this new electric incubation system for fish eggs from Australia (Fry Factory Incubator).

On 4 January 2019, the larvae hatched with a size of around 6-8 mm.

On 20 January 2019, 16 days later, the little ones had grown to around 20 mm.

At the same time, the adults had laid a larger clutch of eggs overnight for the first time.

As there are also other fish in this tank, I have now secured the eggs for the first time and put them back into the Fry Factory incubator.
