Description
Discus spawning cone made of clay
for easier egg-laying of your discus females
Female discus need a slightly inclined plane for their egg-laying, which in the best case is slightly roughened. This can be achieved very well with a spawning cone made of clay.
We use stoneware clay for the production of our clay articles, which can be high-fired and contains a varying proportion of fireclay depending on the product.
This results in a slightly rough surface that allows the eggs to adhere better.
The white clay forms a clear contrast to the colour of most discus fish and thus makes it easier for the larvae to swim towards the parents.
Our spawning cone can easily be heated to a high temperature for disinfection (boiled in water or in the oven).
