Scobinancistrus raonii (L82)
The species L 82 was recently described as Scobinancistrus raonii (Chaves, M.S.; Oliveira, R.R.; Gonçales, A.P.; Sousa, L.M. & Rapp Py-Daniel, L.H., 2023 “A new species of armored catfish of the genus Scobinancistrus (Loricariidae: Hypostominae) from the Xingu River basin, Brazil” (Neotropical Ichthyology, Vol. 21 No. 3))
and they are already regularly using the new crevice caves.
In the meantime, I have also bred this beautiful catfish several times in my tanks.
Eggs of Ancistrini sp. L82 shortly before hatching
The young grow quite quickly at first, and at around 50 days after hatching they have already reached around 35 mm
The strain I reared is characterised by particularly large spots/marks and red fin edges.
