Ancistrus sp ‘Rio Tapajos’
This Ancistrus species belongs to the group of anthracite/black coloured Ancistrus with small white spots. In contrast to Ancistrus dolichopterus (L183), which retains white fringes on both the dorsal and caudal fins even in the adult stage, and Ancistrus sp. L181, which does not retain white fringes in the adult stage, Ancistrus sp. ‘Rio Tapajos’ retains a white-marked upper tail tip (see photos).
